Continued…Read full original article…

Mr Kelly denies ever being a naturist, but since moving to Hay Point about six months ago the sea change has him thinking about some personal changes too.

“I was walking around the unit here with no clothes on feeling quite comfortable,” Mr Kelly said.

“And I started wandering if there was a nude beach in the area.”

Not finding one, he decided that he would start his own. Continued…Read full original article…

Continued…Read full original article…

Is it time for another Nude Ain’t Rude rally?

Almost 20 years to the day since Byron celebrated an historic Nude Ain’t Rude rally on Belongil beach, local activists and nature lovers are asking if it’s time to hold another.

The call follows the arrest of four people in just a few weeks for swimming naked in a quiet area of beach well south of Brunswick Heads but outside Byron Council’s (recently reduced) official clothing optional area.

Dean Jefferys told Echonetdaily he took his three-month old daughter to the rally, which was held on Australia Day 1998, not long after having a fine for offensive behavior quashed by the courts. Continued…Read full original article…

The naked truth about sunbathing … and here’s a titillating glimpse of me and Mrs Wells in the buff
Columnist Martin Wells decide to throw of the constraints of moralistic suburbia and go naturist on their European tour

As I’ve hinted at before in this column, there’s something intensely liberating about being alone in a foreign country with no one but each other to worry about.

My wife and I are free to be who we want to be and, indeed, free to be who we’d like to be. There are none of the restraints you find in normal social situations, where the company of friends demands a certain conformity and you are scared of ‘letting your hair down’ for fear that someone you know might be watching.

And judging. Continued…Read full original article…

Don’t strip down too far at Coast beaches

TWO years ago, the dream of many nudists was expected to come true – an official clothing optional beach on the Fraser Coast.

NO IFS OR BUTTS: Plans to open a legal nude beach at Dundowran have been shut down by the government.

It seemed possible until the Queensland Government shut down a petition started by Poona man John Hart to introduce a legal nudist beach at Dundowran in 2015.

A decision to make the “nude beach” legal has not come to light despite the popular Fraser Coast beach already declared an “unofficial nude beach”. Continued…Read full original article…

Hanoi’s nudists bare all

Butt cheeks bared, Hanoi’s ragtag nudist club ignores the chilly weather to do their daily exercises – some swim, some jog, one performs military drills – stripping off and defying norms in the conservative communist nation.

Tucked behind banana trees on the banks of the city’s Red River, the men meet to shed their clothes, and modesty, for a cheeky dip, a game of chess, or yoga headstands in the buff – which they believe comes with health benefits.

“It’s important for us to come here because we want to be healthy. We call ourselves addicts,” said Nguyen Tuan Nghia, 43, a self-taught Buddhist who’s been disrobing at the meeting spot for 18 years. Continued…Read full original article…

The Popularity of Naturism in Spain Keeps Growing
All over Europe, more than 20 million people engage in naturism, or naturist tourism. Without having Spain as a competitor, countries such as Germany, France and Greece have made their way to the top of the list of naturist destinations. While in these countries there exists a more deep-rooted tradition, this type of tourism didn’t arrive in Spain until 1975 and its exploitation was paralyzed 10 years after it began. Naturism in Spain is lagging behind but it is developing fast.

According to a study conducted by “Hosteltur”, more than 30 000 people routinely engage in naturism in Spain and more than 500 000 do so occasionally. Despite the large number of interested people, the scarceness of offerings in Spain cannot keep up with the demand for naturist destinations.

The President of the Spanish Naturism Federation (FEM), Ismael Rodrigo, believes that the problem lies in an inadequate advocacy of naturism. “There are camping grounds, hotels and urbanizations geared towards naturists, but it has been months since these places have had any vacancies,” he explained.

Rodrigo would like to see entrepreneurs overcome the taboo of naturism. Society needs to understand that naturism goes beyond clothing. It is a lifestyle which, although it continues to be frowned upon by some, has ceased to be a mere exercise and has been transformed into an ideology which is shared by many people and which does not necessarily require practicing nudism. Nudism and Naturism in Austria
Where to Take it All Off

Austrians have taken the title of ‘Most Likely to Go Nude at a Beach’ from the Germans, in a naked wrestling match no-one wanted to see, with a quarter of the country saying they have stripped off in public on vacation at some point in their lives.

Although many consider Austrians to be a formal and rather conservative people, the extent of nudity in Austrian culture may surprise the visitor to Austria.

As in many European countries, nudity is more prevalent on television and films in Austria than it is in the US. Continued…Read full original article…
