Author Ingrid Seward said in her new book Prince Philip Revealed that “naked sunbathers came under the closest of royal scrutiny” at Norfolk’s Holkham Beach near Sandringham Palace
The Royal Family used to ogle naked sunseekers on a nudist beach.
Ingrid Seward, author new book Prince Philip Revealed, said that “naked sunbathers came under the closest of royal scrutiny”.
She added: “During the summer, Edward, Andrew and other members of the Royal Family would frequently spend their days at Holkham Beach.”
Royal cousin Marina Ogilvy (later Marina Mowatt), who is now 54, would also visit the naturist haven.
Marina told the author: “We all used to have a good look through our binoculars.
“It was very funny and the Queen Mother’s remarks were always the naughtiest.”
The beach is near royal residence Sandringham in Norfolk.
Meanwhile Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s popularity poses a “whopping problem” for Kate Middleton and Prince William, a royal commentator has argued.
Earlier this month, Twitter revealed that the Duchess of Sussex was the most tweeted about royal in 2020, followed by Harry and The Queen.
According to data released to Bazaar.com, the Royal Family were tweeted about 20 million times.
