State police and Cayuga County sheriff’s investigators are asking the public’s help as they investigate a series of burglaries at a local nudist resort, sportsman’s club and a snowmobile club.
The burglaries started around Dec. 20 — shortly before Christmas — and continued through last week, police said.
During the last burglary, on Jan. 20, someone stole a 2013 Jeep Wrangler Oscar Mike Edition from the parking lot of Empire Haven Nudist Resort on Sun Lane in Summerhill, state police investigators said. The nudist resort is a seasonal business and is not currently open, police said.
The Cayuga County Sportman’s Association on Rockefeller Road in Owasco and Groton Ridge Runner Snowmobile Club on Lick Street in Summerhill also have been burglarized.
The nudist resort, sportsman’s association and snowmobile club have each been burglarized at least twice, state police said.
The burglars have damaged property while breaking in and stolen items, including money, state police said.
Investigators believe the burglaries are connected. All three locations are in secluded areas, near the woods, police said.
