Nudist pensioner heads off on holiday adventure with fully clothed wife

Rhona Haywood is ‘quite happy surrounded by naked people’ but doesn’t strip off herself

The wife of a nudist pensioner will be remaining fully clothed this spring and summer – but her husband says she will be “quite happy surrounded by naked people”.

Stuart Haywood is not shy when it comes to getting his kit off and he is now looking forward to his new season, which starts on Sunday, April 25.

He will be heading to Abbey House Gardens, in Malmesbury, Wiltshire – where clothing is optional – to mark the occasion.

That trip is followed by a journey to Lakeside Farm Naturist Holidays for a week.

But Rhona, the wife of the 84-year-old Midway man, has decided not to follow her hubby into the world of naturism.

He said: “Rhona is not a naturist, but is perfectly comfortable around people with no clothes on.

“Rhona goes along with it but she’s not a naturist herself. She wouldn’t dream of taking her clothes off, but she’s quite happy surrounded by naked people. It doesn’t bother her.” Lakeside Farm includes a swimming pool, hot tub and a communal room for people to meet as many people turn up in their caravans.

The Haywoods even renewed his wedding vows there – and the vicar turned up naked.

Mr Haywood said: “It really is quite good as people can be themselves. I like to have a walk around have a little rattle with people but people can stay on their own. It’s very easy going. It’s just like normal but with no clothes on.

“It’s normally about this time that people start to become nude as before it’s usually too cold or too wet. For me it’s when Abbey House starts – that’s the start of the season.

“For me it’s a sense of freedom and well-being. I always find after a trip to the lake that I feel a great deal perkier. It’s the vitamin D from the sunshine on your skin. I find I feel the effects immediately.”
