A new app Aforo Costa del Sol by Tourism Costa del Sol has been introduced to keep tabs on the number of visitors to beaches as the resort tries to keep coronavirus at bay

Holidaymakers are being turned away from beaches in Costa del Sol because social distancing rules means they are full by lunchtime.

A new app Aforo Costa del Sol by Tourism Costa del Sol has been introduced to keep tabs on the number of visitors to beaches in the tourist hotspot and once it hits 100% sunseekers were turned away.

As temperatures soar across Spain tourists faced disappointment hoards of beaches were declared full by noon.

There was no exception for nudists who flocked to Playamarina in Mijas as it was also closed to new visitors by midday today.

The naturist beach is so popular it was showing as 80% full eight hours later.
