Heidi Klum on being a nudist and loving her body: “I grew up very free”

While interviewing supermodel Heidi Klum as she was gearing up to launch her sixth season of her namesake lingerie label Heidi Klum Intimates, we couldn’t help but ask – how does she continue to find inspiration for the brand?
“I am constantly inspired by the places that I travel to and the new fabrics that are being developed. I love to visit local shops and markets and see what is unique to those designers and artists. I have a whole shelf in my office filled with items I’ve brought back from my travels over the years. It can be a button, a seashell, fabric, a hat or a photo. For each new season, the design process starts in my head,” the ex-Victoria’s Secret model tells us.
This season, Klum will be adding more bodysuits to her collection, a piece of intimate-wear that she personally adores. “I think they’re becoming a key player in intimates and something that women should start taking advantage of,” she says, citing the Allure in Astor bodysuit as her favourite pick of the new collection for how it flatters the female shape. “A natural shape is really something that I focused on for this collection.”
Earlier this year, Klum, 44, proclaimed to Ocean Drive magazine that she is a total nudist, something we couldn’t help but question considering her love of lingerie. “I grew up very free… not hiding or feeling insecure about myself or my body. As much as I love wearing beautiful lingerie and clothes, I also love not wearing too much. It’s a free feeling that I’ve had since being a small child growing up in Germany.
