Many events have been announced as “cancelled until further notice” or “postponed”, for convenience we are only displaying cancellations until 31 July but this will be updated as the emergency progresses.

Wotton Wander - Dorking - Naturist Ramblers (Nat Rams)

Wotton Wander - Dorking - Naturist Ramblers (Nat Rams)
Distance 12 / Short Walk Option 6 Miles
This was new for 2018 and is becoming our regular walking season opener. It starts at the same place as the Leith Hill walk. Instead of going south, we go north to the Downs which are open with south facing slopes for a good part of the way, but which also have extensive areas of varied and sheltered woodland; the slopes themselves may well be studded with orchids. We rise gently eastwards with fine views south across the peaceful valley around Wotton Hatch to the forested tops of the North Downs ridge, through a gap of which it is possible later to glimpse Chanctonbury Ring on the far-distant South Downs. When we reach the North Downs Way, we follow it west for several miles before returning.
As the Covid 19 pandemic restrictions are gradually lifted and we look forward to salvaging what we can of the 2020 walks programme. We are planning to get the walks going in July in a modified version. To accommodate this we have modified the July walks programme. The dates for walks after July may also be reviewed, but at present no changes to the original programme dates have been made.
The current Government regulations allow six of us to meet up and walk as long as we maintain social distancing guidelines. Our plan is to try and get several of these groups of six (or pods) doing the walks, each pod being led by a pod leader and setting off at slightly different times so that the pods maintain a respectable distance between each other. Hopefully we will be able to have 2 or 3 pods working on each walk, so we will be able to do each walk with a reasonable number of walkers.

At present we are only working on getting the July walks up and running. As demand is likely to exceed the number of available spaces, we are going to operate a booking system. Do NOT turn up on the day hoping to walk as you will not be able to walk with us – we cannot and will not walk as a group of 7 or more (unless of course Government advice changes).

Distance 11 Miles / Short Walk Option 7 Miles
This walk follows a delightful wiggling route through a mixture of pasture and woodland combining great views across the Weald with some enchanting almost Alpine settings. We usually stop for lunch in Wadhurst Park where herds of deer are often seen grazing. In early May the wooded sections will be full of colourful wild flowers including some rare species.A shorter version of the walk is possible.

Distance 12 Miles
This walk is a modified version of the old Whiteways walk with its new start location. The walk starts off with a steady climb up onto the downs, through a mixture of farmland and woodland. We walk along a section of Stane Street the old Roman Road which is still in good condition! The walk then takes in lovely chalk downland and deserted valleys before joining part of the South Downs Way with stunning views as we return to the pub.
