Why not try naturism? We have had numerous responses to this question. Some have absurd concerns such as ‘naturism encourages paedophilia’, others object on the basis of some moral or religious principle. However, most are either neutral or fall somewhere on a scale of ‘interested’. Our experience is that there are actually very few who are actively against people removing their clothes in appropriate public circumstances.
However, there does seem to be a gender divide when it comes to trying naturism for themselves. Men are often keen, women less so.
In the UK, at least, this divide is reflected in most clothing optional spaces, whether the beach, the naked bike ride or the naked hike. Most naturist clubs will, from necessity, need some sort of policy to avoid becoming too male heavy.
This is a sad state of affairs and holds back the wider practice and benefits of naturism. In our experience, therefore, when promoting naturism it is women who need the most encouragement.
