Calls to name Cornwall’s new fire boat

A call has gone out to name Cornwall’s new fire boat.

The boat, commissioned by Cornwall Fire Rescue and Community Safety Service, will help keep both locals and visitors safe around the Duchy’s coast.

It is the first one to be specifically built for the service and will be used for maritime incidents, like fires at sea or rescues.

It will also work in partnership with other emergency services for prevention, boat safety and as cover during busy events such as regattas.

The new boat still needs a name but sadly, we have been told we cannot use Boaty McBoatface because it is ‘in use elsewhere’.

Fire McFireface then? Read full original article…
