British Naturism (BN)

British Naturism (BN) is the National Naturist Organisation for the United Kingdom and is the coordinating body for over 100 clubs and 25,000 individual members. This site will give you details of affiliated clubs throughout Britain, information about naturism and contains links to different aspects of naturism.

What is naturism?

Naturism is the practice of going without clothes. Whatever you may think about people who do such a thing, it is not shameful, embarrassing or ridiculous. In fact when the weather is hot it’s the sensible option – and great fun!

It’s good for you too – the human body was not designed to be completely wrapped up in clothes and subjected to artificial heat and light sources and air conditioning 24/7. Millions of normal people have discovered how good it feels to have the sun and breeze on their skin. They feel better, more relaxed, less self-conscious and de-stressed as a result. Poor body image is improved when you realise that almost no-one has a “perfect” body.

Sunbathing and swimming are the most popular activities; there is nothing like an all-over tan, and swimming in the nude is bliss. Swimming costumes are among the most uncomfortable, unhealthy and pointless items of clothing there are!

Naturism is also very sociable. Naturists are happy, friendly people who are pleased to have discovered such a great way of being. They treat everyone with respect and as equals. Being among contented, comfortable and like-minded people brings about a sense of mental well-being.

Despite what you may think – you quickly become used to being naked among other naked people. Sounds impossible? Even the most reluctant first-timers say how they “forgot” they were nude after only a few minutes and stopped noticing that everyone else was too. Simple nudity is not sexually stimulating – in naturist places you will find people doing what you see anywhere else, only without clothes. © British Naturism (BN)

    Mr N.Hravey
    2 Vellan Parc

    Many many thanks

    1. Hi Neil

Membership of BN is £41 in the first year (£31 in subsequent years, an administration charge I suppose!) Membership of BN does give you a credibility when approaching clubs and events and a means of identification as a bona fide naturist.

There is a South West region of BN who organise events locally although not so many as far down as Hayle and as the region is quite large there can be quite a lot of travel up and down the A30. Of course you can pick and choose as you wish.

Once you are a member you will receive the quarterly magazine and can sign up for various newsletters including the South West Region newsletter and get involved with the online BN fora.

For more information about BN try the following websites, BN site, Membership

      I hope this helps.

      All the best, naturally
